Germany: aiming for maximum reliability and long service life with the B 70

The product name is the clue: the B 70 ballasted sleeper was introduced in 1970, and is Deutsche Bahn's most widely used sleeper. This classic is also installed in places other than Germany, such as Turkey and Romania.

  • The B 70 can be manufactured and supplied quickly, even in large volumes
  • Concrete sleepers must be capable of withstanding major stresses and climate extremes, require little maintenance and have a long service life - and the B 70 satisfies these requirements without difficulty
  • The B 70 has undergone continuous improvement in many years of collaboration between Deutsche Bahn and RAILONE, and has been adapted to deal with changed requirements
  • To date, RAILONE has sold about 23 million B 70 sleepers to Deutsche Bahn
