RAILONE is installing the proven RHEDA 2000® system for the first time on the Arabian Peninsula in the nine Etihad Tunnels. The railway line is part of a freight transport route along the Arab states in the Persian Gulf to provide the riparian states with an alternative means of transporting goods from the Persian Gulf in the event of a political crisis over the Strait of Hormuz (Iran). The installation has already been completed.
Project details:
- Installation of the RHEDA 2000® system was completed in the summer of 2022.
- The line is designed as a combined solution for heavy traffic (36 tons at 120 km/h) and high speed (22.5 tons at 200 km/h)
