In less than a year, a plant was opened in Clinton, Iowa, despite difficult climatic conditions such as tornadoes, icy winds and extreme winter snowfall. At this time, the new plant is the first carousel system for the production of prestressed concrete sleepers on the American continent. In combination with high-quality modular plant technology, it is one of the most modern concrete sleeper plants in the world.

  • The plant focuses on the requirements of the North American railway company Union Pacific Railroad and employs up to 100 people
  • Up to 600,000 main-track sleepers leave the plant annually
  • Since the opening, deliveries have also been made to other Class 1 railway companies, such as Canadian Pacific and Canadian National Railroad
  • Clinton sleepers meet the highest requirements for heavy haul traffic. The design of the sleeper is based on AREMA and ASTM standards as well as high customer-specific requirements
  • RAILONE's USA subsidiary produces sleepers for urban transit and long-distance traffic in the USA; these can also be delivered to neighboring countries
  • The production of concrete sleepers in this plant meets the requirements of the "Buy America Act"; furthermore, the plant is approved not only according to ISO 9001 but also according to ACI and PCI standards and has M1003 certification
