Turnouts are complex constructions that have to meet high safety requirements. Systems that have been tried and tested for many years should therefore not be changed unnecessarily. Thus, a track system should be largely subordinate to the turnout design. With RHEDA CITY, this requirement is perfectly implemented, especially in conjunction with the AS-NV1 fastening system.
The RHEDA CITY system for turnouts is based, analogously to the track system, on a track grid consisting of sleepers with lattice girder reinforcement for reliable integration into the load-bearing in-situ concrete slab. The turnout sleepers are designed to be continuous, analogous to ballast sleepers, so that the rail fasteners can be freely placed. In the case of the system with anchor rail fastening, coordinates for fastening dowels still have to be determined without great effort. The matching rail fasteners of type AS-NV1 can be placed freely in position and alignment when the turnout is installed without any preliminary coordination. In addition, the fastening can be adapted to different heights of the rail foot - e.g. in the area of frog or switch device - without additional components.
In the construction process, the turnout components are mounted in the same way as the track grid, then positioned in height and direction, and finally the track slab is concreted. RHEDA CITY turnouts can therefore be built together with the track without the use of special equipment and tools. Since the turnouts are installed as assembled track grids and the (long) sleepers can be interrupted and coupled as desired, factory pre-assembly of the turnouts is possible and - since required for turnout acceptance anyway - often a great relief for construction companies. RHEDA CITY for turnouts is thus the optimum and, on top of that, reliable and economical solution for the turnout manufacturer and the construction company.
