RAILONE Noise Absorber RONA - Noise protection for the ballastless track

Ballastless tracks are particularly efficient roadways that are increasingly used in high-speed or highly frequented routes. Such traffic corridors often also mean particularly high noise pollution for local residents, which should be reduced by suitable measures such as noise barriers. In most cases, these structures are expensive to purchase and maintain or cannot be built due to limited space. The RONA sound absorption lining from RAILONE offers an effective alternative in this regard, especially in combination with other measures. RONA consists of precast concrete elements that effectively reduce sound absorption from wheel-rail contact thanks to their special surface properties and porosity. This can reduce the overall noise level of train traffic by up to three decibels. For this purpose, the prefabricated absorbers are laid over the entire or partial surface of the track. The prefabricated parts are sufficiently secured due to their own weight and therefore do not require any additional fixing to the track, which is why the system can be laid very quickly and efficiently or removed if necessary.

Properties:

  • Precast concrete elements that effectively reduce sound absorption from wheel-rail contact thanks to their special surface properties and porosity
  • Laying the precast absorbers over the entire or partial surface of the roadway
  • No additional fixation with the carriageway necessary due to its own weight
  • Very fast and efficient installation or removal possible
  • Overall noise level of train traffic can be reduced by up to three decibels
  • has been in use for more than ten years on various Deutsche Bahn lines, both in inner-city areas in suburban railroad operation and in high-speed operation at up to 330 km/h and has not required any maintenance or repair measures since then
