Lines in the North American rail network must be designed for axle loads of up to 36 tons and be able to withstand the many and varied loads of exceptional traffic over the long term. Very long, double-deck trains loaded with containers, which are pulled by several locomotives, are not unusual there. RAILONE designed a new heavy-duty sleeper especially for these loads, the USA HHS (abbreviation for Heavy Haul Sleeper). In addition to the AREMA Manual and ASTM specifications, it also meets the high requirements of the US railway company Union Pacific Railroad. The sleeper type can be flexibly adapted to other customer requirements as well.
