Ballastless Track

Slab tracks offer numerous advantages, such as excellent ride comfort. Although this is less important in freight traffic, it can still make sense to use slab tracks on routes with heavy traffic (axle loads > 250 kN), particularly in high-frequency mixed traffic or with demanding maintenance requirements. For these cases, the RHEDA 2000® system has been adapted for axle loads of 32.5 t (AREMA standard), for example. For this purpose, the base course was reinforced and the sleeper design was modified, primarily to support the higher horizontal loads.
