Hazel McCallion Line - Hurontario LRT, Canada

The 18 kilometer long Hurontario Light Rail Transit (LRT) project is part of the Ontario government's commitment to expand mass transit in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, where it will later provide a new, environmentally friendly and reliable mode of transportation for a rapidly growing region. The 19-stop transit system will run through two urban growth centers and will have connections to major transit systems such as GO Transit (Milton and Lakeshore West lines) and the Mississauga Transitway, among others. The Hazel McCallion Line will operate in a dedicated lane, providing a smooth, reliable and convenient ride on the region's busiest road.  This is the second project in Canada, after REM Montreal, where our RHEDA CITY system was chosen as a reliable solution. In addition, our UTT17 sleeper was installed here for the first time, thus achieving approval for a Light Rail sleeper in North America. Despite high raw material prices due to the Ukraine conflict, the customer's order was implemented economically.
