With a total length of 23.4 km and 13 stations, the Palembang Light Rail Transit project connects the international airport, Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II, with the Jakabaring Stadium and represents an important infrastructure building block for the Asian Games, which took place from 18 August to 2 September 2018. Operation began on August 1, 2018, just three weeks before the start of the sports event and just before the Jakarta LRT, making it Indonesia's first LRT line in operation.
Project details:
RAILONE's scope of supply comprised approx. 5000 linear metres of turnout sleepers of type GWS 05 M27, manufactured at the turnout sleeper plant in Kirchmöser (Germany) in August and September 2017.
The special feature of this project are the extensive bridge constructions, on which most of the section runs. The RHEDA CITY points offered a decisive advantage in this respect. The system makes it possible to lift pre-assembled sections as a whole onto the corresponding bridges.
