Ha’il, Saudi Arabia: Construction of a new plant for the production of concrete sleepers

In October 2015, RAILONE opens a second plant in Ha’il. The necessity of the construction arises from the increasing demand for sleepers. Ambitious long-term plans to expand the infrastructure of Saudi Arabia and surrounding countries reinforce this need. RAILONE is one of the few European companies to have been producing directly in Saudi Arabia for years, underlining its extensive experience in demanding projects abroad. Thanks to years of experience in carrying out plant projects under difficult conditions, RAILONE completes the plant within the planned construction period of ten months. And thus also masters the challenge of Ha’il's climatically and infrastructurally demanding location on the edge of the Nefud desert in northern Saudi Arabia.

Project details:

  • Resilience: Despite high temperatures of up to 55 degrees Celsius during the construction phase, successful completion on schedule
  • Performance: The annual production capacity is up to 500,000 prestressed concrete sleepers; in a three-shift system, the plant employs up to 110 people.

  • Quality: sleepers from Hail meet the highest demands on the properties of sleepers for long-distance and freight traffic
