Aschaffenburg, Germany: high storage capacity for flexible operation

In April 2018, after ten months of construction, RAILONE opened a new concrete sleeper plant in Aschaffenburg, Bavaria. This additional German production site of RAILONE GmbH is an important addition to the existing plants and serves the German railway market with high-grade products of the usual RAILONE quality. The production process used is a carousel-driven late demoulding system with extensive automation technology. In addition to the B 70 sleeper, which is widely used in Germany, the new plant also produces numerous other types of main-track sleepers for urban transit and long-distance traffic in Germany and Europe.

Project details:

  • The large storage area of the plant offers a capacity of up to 120,000 sleepers
  • Production capacity: 600,000 concrete sleepers per year (in three-shift operation up to 2,500 sleepers per day)
  • The plant offers almost 50 jobs in production and administration
  • Two high capable loading tracks (20-22 wagons per train) were installed on the site
  • The product range in this plant extends from sleepers for use in the German local and long-distance rail market to solutions for foreign rail projects
  • State-of-the-art production technology and well thought-out hall construction make efficient use of the 35,000 m² site
